Good afternoon, K-5 BOA students and families!
It is hard to believe that it’s already the end of the first trimester! We are so grateful for the opportunity to serve your students in Bethel Online Academy and to have your family as part of our BOA community.
I want to let you know about a change we will be making to the K-5 BOA schedule beginning with the new trimester.
Beginning December 1, K-5 students will Zoom with their teachers for one hour on Wednesdays (from 8:40-9:40 for AM classes & 12:15-1:15 for PM classes) and will be provided with asynchronous learning opportunities for the rest of the school day.
A few things to note:
– Attendance will still be taken by teachers on Wednesdays.
– Students may be asked to login to an additional Zoom with a BOA staff member to receive some extra academic support.
– Title, ELD, and Special Education small groups will still take place on Wednesdays at their normally scheduled times.
We are making this Wednesday schedule change in an effort to provide K-5 BOA teachers with consistent planning and preparation time. This extra time will allow our staff to better meet the academic and social-emotional needs of our students, and provide more opportunities for BOA staff to offer additional academic support to students in a small group or individual setting, as needed.
