The Bethel School Board at a special meeting Thursday unanimously approved a change to the 2021-2022 district calendar.
January 24 will now be a no-school day for all students. K-8 students will now attend school on Feb. 3, which will remain a no-school day for high school students. An updated district calendar can be found here. The number of instructional days for K-8 students will remain the same and WHS students will receive an additional student support day on Jan. 24th.
This calendar change was implemented to provide additional time for students and staff to get well before returning to school during this COVID-19 surge, and to further mitigate potential spread. With these three-day extended breaks, the district aims to allow for more time for student and staff to recover from illness and increased student attendance in the next few weeks of school. This change will also allow the district to more easily adjust for staff and student absences due to quarantine and isolation.
