A $7.7 million series of projects will bring improvements to existing heating and ventilation systems at four Bethel schools this summer. These will be the first of many upgrades, repairs and improvements funded by the passage of the 2020 Bethel bond measure.
Clear Lake, Danebo, Irving and Shasta will see the upgrades as part of an Energy Savings Performance Contract with Ameresco. Irving will also get a new roof as part of the project.
In 2020, a similar energy efficiency contract brought improved lighting, plumbing, irrigation systems and HVAC controls throughout the District. Those projects are to be paid for with the guaranteed energy cost savings they generate.
This summer’s work will take place in boiler rooms and mechanical spaces throughout the buildings, with the work at Clear Lake taking place in every room of the school.
