The Bethel Budget Committee has approved the proposed school district budget for the coming school year.
The $71 million General Fund budget now goes to the School Board for final adoption on June 28.
The Bethel budget includes funding for an improved student-teacher ratio, new course offerings at the high school level, after school programs in the middle grades, Skill Builders for student support, and opportunities for staff training.
Bethel’s budget is built on the State of Oregon providing $9.3 billion in the State School Fund for the 2021-23 biennium. The Legislature is still finalizing the new biennium budget.
