Board Priorities

2025-26 Board Priorities

Priority Area 1: Relevant and Responsive Education — Mathematics

Goal: Ensure every student has access to high-quality mathematics instruction that is rigorous, culturally responsive, and aligned with grade-level standards.

Focus: Increase student achievement in mathematics across all grade levels through curriculum alignment, professional development, and the use of real-time data to inform instruction.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Interim assessment data in mathematics (district benchmark tools)
  • SBAC math achievement and growth scores
  • Percentage of students on grade level in math in grades 6-12

Priority Area 2: Joy and Wellness — Staff Well-Being and Collaboration

Goal: Foster a culture of care and belonging for all staff by addressing workload, communication, and professional support systems.

Focus: Improve staff well-being by regularly gathering input, reducing burnout, and taking meaningful action based on staff feedback.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Upbeat Survey: Staff engagement, work-life balance, and well-being data
  • PLC Survey: Staff participation, self-assessment tool, implementation
  • Participation in wellness initiatives and support services

Priority Area 3: Belonging and Engagement — Student Engagement

Goal: Ensure every student feels a sense of connection, purpose, and voice in their school experience.

Focus: Increase student engagement across all schools, with targeted improvement efforts focused on middle school students.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Student Experience Survey: Focus on engagement and belonging domains
  • Middle school engagement trends by school and demographic group
  • Attendance rates and chronic absenteeism
  • Participation in extracurricular, leadership, and enrichment programs

Priority Area 4: Strong Systems, Strong Communities — Post Graduation Readiness

Goal: Prepare every student for success in the future of their choosing—college, career, or community service—by aligning systems that support exploration, preparation, and transition.

Focus: Expand access to and strengthen programs that support post-secondary readiness, including career and college centers, CTE pathways, and workforce partnerships.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Participation and completion rates in CTE pathways and dual credit programs
  • Utilization and effectiveness of the Willamette Career & College Center and Kalapuya workforce partnerships
  • Post-graduation success data (enrollment in college, entry into the workforce, military, apprenticeships, etc.)
  • Launch and usage of a districtwide post-graduation data tracking system
